Education, training and outreach
Education, Training & Outreach
OGG is rather a unique local geological society in that it provides a structured programme of workshops and seminars for its members and the wider community. GeoINTRO is our series, of workshops designed for those starting out in geology, the Earth and planetary sciences.
For those with more experience our GeoPLUS seminars are an ideal way to keep your skills and knowledge up to date. For information and to book your place, email programme@ogg.rocks
Our training and education programme offers a two-tier approach.
GeoINTRO
Our popular GeoINTRO workshops are designed to meet the needs of those just starting out in geology, the Earth and planetary sciences. No previous knowledge or skills are needed to take part in any of these workshops, quite simply we start at the beginning.
GeoPLUS
OGG’s seminar series, GeoPLUS, is designed for more experienced geologists, Earth and planetary scientists. These seminars are delivered by specialists and aim to deepen knowledge, broaden awareness and develop existing skills.
Outreach
OGG delivers talks, training sessions and guided walks to members of the public throughout the county.
During 2014 alone, OGG members have given over 60 lectures to community groups and schools around Oxfordshire.
If your school or group would like an OGG speaker to give a lecture on:
